*UPDATE 9/4/2024: Suzy is thriving as the youngest horse in the barn! She’s a spirited, young mare with a bit of sass, but she responds well to gentle but firm guidance. Once she forms a bond of trust, she's willing to follow direction. She’s great on the lunge line, stands calmly on crossties, and keeps her stall impressively clean (which is a big plus!). Under saddle, Suzy walks beautifully and is just starting to learn how to trot. She’s also wonderful on the trails, making her a joy to ride outdoors.

(Spicy Que, Suzy Q, or even Q-T, are only a few of her many nicknames. This little filly is sweet and sensitive, with a little bit of sass thrown in. Her pretty black coat is sleek from her racing career, so she is enjoying her warm winter blankets. She is eager to learn and doing great with her groundwork. Still has a few youngster moments here and there - gets very bored on cross-ties - but nothing that won't get corrected with a little time and patience. Susy Q has recently begun under saddle and is learning the cues needed. She is a quick learner but continues to need more time under saddle. She would work best with someone who has experience, as she is still learning what life as a riding horse is all about. So far, her favorite treats are the puffy mints and apple flavored treats. At first she wasn't interested in the mints, now all it takes is the crinkling of the wrapper and her attention is fixed on you.)
