We wanted to share this article our volunteer Pam found online. It’s a great story about finding that one horse who changes your life… Except that horse can’t be ridden.
So often we hear about the horses who fly higher, run faster or ride harder as being those horses. But we forget about the ones who can’t be ridden-they’ve got baggage from their past, an injury that plagues them or they’re elderly and looking to retire. These horses have so much to teach us about patience and the value of hard work, often more than a rideable horse. So next time you’re thinking about a horse, think about the companions, the pasture puffs, the ones who would otherwise spend their days in a rescue without a home of their own.
Please read the article below and keep our wonderful companions in mind.
